The name Lanron is a combination of my wife’s and my name, Lana, and Ron. My lovely wife was very supportive and instrumental during the transition from being employed elsewhere to starting Lanron Inspections, one of the fasted growing and most trusted Calgary inspection companies in the area today.
My training consisted of 25 years in the construction industry and 4 years of classes for Calgary home inspections along with many other training sessions such as Level 2 Thermographic Building Investigations and Commercial Building Inspections. Being a RHI (Registered Home Inspector) with CAHPI (Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors) we are required to obtain enough training points to maintain the RHI status.
Other training consists of indoor air quality investigation, mold investigation, high efficient furnace inspection,
thermal imaging inspections, and part 9 of the building codes. We have experts training us on every new construction innovation during our conferences, and the senior inspectors are constantly mentoring the younger inspectors and passing on their expert knowledge.
I have spent 2 years on the Board of Directors of CAHPI Alberta. Along with the Government of Alberta, we have licensed the inspection industry. This will raise the standards of home inspectors and rid us of the fly-by-nighters that have given the industry a bad name. This is why it is important to only hire inspectors that belong to CAHPI or ASHI where the standards are high and education is maintained. There are companies that proclaim training inspectors in 6 weeks and have credentials awarded from an association that they themselves have started.
